Driver, TV personality and motorsports spokesperson. Jo grew up in her family’s automotive business, ran Boyd Coddington’s shop alongside him, starred on American Hot Rod, and today carries the torch for Boyd’s legacy while building her own.

Jo is COO of Coddington Speed Shop and the voice behind some of the best-known brands in the aftermarket. She works as a motorsports spokesperson, makes public appearances at car shows and auctions, speaks at events, and builds her own cars with ideas shaped by her years with Boyd.
She also keeps Boyd Coddington’s legacy alive, traveling and speaking on his behalf, and welcoming the next generation of car people into the hobby. You’ll find her on the floor at SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas.

A family of car people
Her father and family worked in the automotive business her whole life. Jo started as his helper and parts runner, which is where she learned how a business really runs.

Driving before she could reach the pedals
She raced go-karts as a kid, and at 12 she drove the family’s ’53 Chevy between home and the shop with pillows behind her back to reach the pedals.
